While at UF, I've been able to take a wide range of courses that have expanded my knowledge of economics and agriculture around the world.
AEB4673 - International Agricultural Trade
In this class, I was able to learn a lot about trade policy and the effects that trade barriers can have on people's welfare. For my term paper, I looked at Mali and the economic effects of the ongoing conflict in the region along with the grain export ban Mali implemented. Read my paper here
AEB3550 - Agricultural Data Analysis
In this class, I gained experience working with agricultural data via Microsoft Excel. For a project, I analyzed survey information from Southeastern US forest owners to see how, depending on their main source of income, they value their land differently. Read my report here
AEB3103 - Principles of Food and Resource Economics
In this class, I gained a better understanding of the global economy and agricultural production and the trade of agricultural products. For my project, I analyzed Turkey's forestry sector via the World Input-Output Database. Read my paper here
AEB3671 - Comparative World Agriculture
In this class, I learned about how countries' agriculture is adapted to their environment. As part of the class, I created a PowerPoint looking at the challenges that farmers and herders are facing in the West African Sahel. View my presentation here
AEB4282 - International Humanitarian Assistance
In this class, I was able to gain a better understanding of how humanitarian assistance is provided and its guiding principles. I was able to learn about the challenges that humanitarian organizations face and some of the internal problems they're working to solve.
AEB4283 - International Development Policy
Through this class, I was able to learn about the organizations, theories, and policies surrounding international development. I learned how development programs are evaluated and how the field has evolved over time.
